Altered Reader's Digest Christmas handmade junk journal.
This journal is made from a vintage 1980 Reader's Digest book. The cover is a beautiful red and green pattern on a white background. I added a paper collage nameplate, fabric covered spine, and a removable Christmas dangle, all tied up with black lace and red rick-rack. Inside, the cover has double pockets on both the front and back.
She has 4 signatures, with about 144 pages, counting front and back. I used a variety of papers including, but not limited to scrapbook paper, coffee dyed papers, lined, copy, music sheets, cookbook pages, specialty, and stationery.
Many pages have machine stitching and some have lace or ruffled trim. There are loads of pockets, outlet belly bands, and tuck spots throughout. This journal has over 60 pieces of ephemera, tags, journaling cards, and loose papers. There is plenty of space for journaling. Each signature is bond with a three hole pamphlet stitch and I've tied charms or buttons to each thread.
She is a full and chunky journal!
