This sweet little boy print is a signed etching that was done by the listed artist Arthur William Heintzelman 1891-1965. In ink at the bottom on the mat it states "Demonstration plate - Marblehead 1940". And on the other corner it states "Arthur Wm (underlined) Heintzelman". This may be a one of a kind piece because it does not have a number and it states "Demonstration". Heintzelman has been called "one of the greatest etchers of the Twentieth Century". The frame has a maple stain. It has a white mat with outlet a matching brown line around the etching. There is a shield shaped sticker on the back that states "Haley & Steele - Art Dealers - 109 St. James Ave. - Boston, Mass.". In pencil under the sticker is "7". This can be seen in picture #6. This framed etching is 12-7/8" tall x 10-2/8" wide x just under 5/8" deep. Inside the border of the matt the etching is 8" tall x 5-7/8" wide.
As usual, this piece was probably stored in a basement. There is a bit of water damage to the outer sheet on the back as you can see in the last picture. There is no odor associated with this mark. There are scuffs to the frame as you can see in picture #7.
