A beautiful vintage or antique Catholic door blessing, made in the Spanish town of Eibar, famous for its decorative metal workshops in the 1920s and 30s. These lovely enamel plaques are found on the front doors of many houses throughout Spain. However, it is extremely unusual to find one that is framed. It may be that this one was inside a porch, where the elements couldn't affect the wooden frame.

It is in remarkably good condition for a door blessing, in most of them the enamel work is very chipped, rubbed or worn where it was touched as people entered the house. There is just some rubbing to the bottom of the plaque but the imagery outlet and wording is clear. The wood appears to be pine with a black stain, and it's in good condition.

It is a wonderful collectible artefact, with wide decorative appeal.
