1920s Papier-Mâché Doll Head Hat Stand outlet Made in Germany, Doll Head Hat Stand, Art Deco German Doll Head Hat Stand, Hat Stand, 9.5" H

A close to antique 1920s hat stand with a paper mâché doll's head. Even though this is not marked as outlet such, based on my research I believe this to be German.

She does not appear to ever have had hair underneath her bonnet as there is no glue residue on her head. She wears a wool felt flapper style hat with a button and a wool felt scarf around her neck. Both are quite dirty and show wear. Her head is made from paper mâché rather than than being composite. Her face is hand painted. There are stray spots of dirt. Please refer to Photo 3 for a close up photo of her face. The wood stand was painted green but the paint is distressed in numerous places.

Despite all of these condition issues - common to these old doll head hat stands - I find her charming and was quite excited to find this. I love her heavy eye shadow and her "side eye."

MEASUREMENTS:
9.5 inches high x 3.5 inches wide at the wood base x 2.75 inches wide at the circular wood hat rest.
