Pink silk/alpaca beaded handknit outlet scarf

This handknit scarf is made from a silk/alpaca blend hand-dyed in Portland, OR. Iridescent beads were worked in as I knit the piece. The alpaca blend paired with the weight of the beads creates amazing drape in this luxurious piece.

The pattern is called "Hanami" and is designed to represent the Japanese custom of enjoying the springtime blooming season of the cherry blossoms (sakura). The design is asymmetrical representing the tree's canopy on one end and transitioning - as you move from one end of the scarf to the other - through the blossoms (highlighted with the beads) and ending with a fence at the other outlet end.
