Lace Cap outlet with Pink Ribbons, 1700's to early 1800's

outlet During the late 1700's and early 1800's caps were very popular, ranging from very simple to very fussy. This is one of the latter; frothy with lace and ribbons, it attaches with a comb. There is a separate froth of lace on one side of the cap, and a wide ribbon across it, falling down the other side.
It is not a nightcap but would have been worn for afternoon through evening wear.
