In traditional French butter crocks (also known as cloches), the butter is kept in the cup lid, and sealed from spoiling by a resting in a shallow bit of water in the crock's base. The easy knob functions as a base for setting the butter upright on the table or set the cup onto in the base when serving.

Note: If you prefer a light or dark variation of a color, please add a comment with your order.
Additionally, please specify if you prefer two colors on the outside, and if you want the primary color on the upper or lower part, or a solid color. (see other listing pictures for examples)

The cup top outlet holds just over 1 stick of butter. This crock is approximately 4 3/4"H x 4"W, (base alone is 3"H x 3 3/4"W)

This stoneware crock is handmade and hand painted.
Dishwasher safe.

If in stock I can mail within 1-3 days. (Artist's Choice glazes generally mail fastest) If not, it takes up to 3 weeks, clay to mailing. I can let you know if I have any in process and let you know how long it will take to completion.
