Perfect to use or display in a vintage purse collection. Verified rare early Mary Frances. This bedazzled circus elephant box shoulder purse is constructed of thick pressed board. As with all Mary Frances handbags, a variety of materials are used to create the textures and fabulous design of the front, back and sides - chains, beads, various studs and various cords. The strap is thick gold metal chain with black cord woven through it. The strap is embedded in the sides on the inside and feeds though raised portholes in the top. It can be hidden inside the purse. The interior has no lining and is painted black. Colors are black, dark blue, brick red, grey, white, silver and gold. Stamped "Made in Philippines".

Purse measures (bottom to top of lid) 7" high x 6 1/4" wide x 2 1/2" deep. Chain has a 25" drop.

The purse was verified by the company as one of their first runs and said it had a sticker for the branding that usually fell off. The white Philippines stamp was also verified. The purse is very good condition outlet given the age and materials. The cording is clean and solidly attached. I found one missing bugle bead and some scuff on the stars. There is minimal surface rubbing on the interior black paint where the top and bottom fit together. Also, the interior of the lid has some cracking around the portholes. Please reference the photos.
