ONE-OF-A-KIND STUDIO ART POTTERY - "THE LITTLE RED BULL" - ORIGINAL HANDBUILT & GLAZED, ARTIST SIGNED & DATED, 2022
(Free Shipping to All 50 States - Please see information at bottom of listing)

For sale is another adorably unconventional handbuilt figural pottery cabinet sculpture, "THE LITTLE RED BULL". This one-of-a-kind Studio Art Pottery piece is by Palm Springs potter and watercolorist David Farnsworth. It measures 5 3/4" tall, 5 1/2" in length from tail to ear 3 1/2" deep. This little fella is ready for a fight! His cue facial features, ears, tail and horns are applied by hand. It is made of a stoneware paper clay with a high fire white bead glaze over a red underglaze. Please note the glaze crawls on the back haunches and near the tail as they are not damage but an oft time common occurrence with this top glaze. I like to think they are little battle scars. It is ink signed 'DRF' on the bottom and dated '22.

David R. Farnsworth has been creating works and has been featured in various shows and galleries on the West Coast since 1987. Venues such as the PALM SPRINGS ART COMMISSION SHOW, SILICA STUDIOS, PALM SPRINGS ART MUSEUM; ACE, STREETBAR ART-WALL PROJECT, ART AT HOME SHOW, MEDINA, MARCOS SUPPER CLUB, DARBURY STENDERU GALLERY and J CRIST GALLERY have shown his work. David was also an ornament designer for DIDA LAMPS & ORNAMENTS in Seattle, Washington. His ceramics and watercolors can be found in many private collections in France and the United States.

He is a self-taught artist who creates amazing ceramics and whimsical watercolors. David's ceramic sculptures and figures are coil and slab built by hand and either high or low fired. Every figure, sculpture or vase is a one-of-a-kind piece. This earthenware vessel with lid has a stamped signature underfoot, and was made in 2019. Please look closely at all photographs, as they are part of the description. All Items come from a smoke free environment.

There are many reasons to buy original handmade art and items. It is good for the environment as most are made in small craft studios and workshops as opposed to factories. Each handmade product is unique - no two are ever exactly the same. When you buy from an artist you are supporting a local economy and although it may not be local to the buyer, it stays in the artists community instead of going to national or international companies. Most handmade items are made to last from materials that usually can withstand the test of time. Each handmade product has its own story, each handmade shop and the person who created it puts a lot of time and effort in to making something that's unique and beautiful. When you buy directly from the person who makes your handmade item you can ask questions about the material it is made from, where the inspiration came from. By supporting your local artisan you are also supporting the craft skill they practice and supporting traditional skills. By buying handmade art you show your friend or family member that you've taken the time to really think about their interest and likes you are treating them to something that nobody else will have. And in the end, when you buy a handmade gift you know that the maker is passionate about their craft so each gift is made with a lot of care and attention to detail to create something unique and to be treasured.
