In a vibrant coral color, this beautiful outfit dates from the 1950s. It is made of acetate taffeta layered under perfectly matching acetate and nylon lace. The sleeveless dress has a full skirt and a wide matching belt that snaps in back and has a big flat bow in front. There is a long back covered metal zipper. The jacket has a peter pan collar edged in acetate satin, rhinestone buttons, and 3/4-length kimono sleeves. It is cropped in length so it shows off the belt at the waist of the dress.
There is no maker's label in the outfit, but it has a size tag and the union label used 1955-63.
Condition: This outfit hardly seems used at all. The only thing I can find to report is that there is a bit of discoloration on the inside of the belt, and the belt has some creasing in it. (Please see the final photo.)
Size: In the small to medium range. Labeled vintage size 15, I believe the size is about a modern US 7 or 9.
