Adorable Deer Pattern (or Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer) hand-painted redware stacking tea set, Royal Sealy, Japan, c. 1950-70s. The complete set includes a tea pot, creamer, sugar bowl and a lid that fits all the pots.
The tea pot (bottom) in the shape of a deer is decorated in black with brown hoofs, pink ears, white polka dot spots, and gold lines delineating the body and antlers. Rudolph has a bright, shiny red nose and two extra red nose decorations on the sides. Tea pours from the open mouth. The handle is decorated with a miniature deer head and white spots. The tea pot is marked "Japan" on the bottom. It measures approximately 3 1/2 (H) x 7 3/4 (W) x 2 3/4 (D) inches. It is in very good condition, with no chips, cracks, scratches, crazing, or loss of paint.
The creamer (middle) is decorated like the tea pot without red nose decorations on the sides. It measures approximately 2 (H) x 5 5/8 (W) x 1 3/4 (D) inches. The creamer is in good condition with no cracks, scratches, crazing, or loss of paint. There are two small chips on the top inner lip. Please see photos for detail.
The sugar bowl (top) has two handles and a lid. It measures approximately 3 (H) x 5 1/2 (W) x 1 3/4 (D). It outlet is in very good condition, with no cracks, scratches, crazing, or loss of paint. The inner lip of the lid has one small chip. Please see photos for details.
