The panel configuration of this piece almost belies the fact that it is a unique bud vase. Produced by Weller Pottery in the 1920's, this double bud vase is a representation of the Marvo line. The lushness and density of its stylized foliage encompasses the entire piece to the extent that one could view it any number of times and come away likely having seen something new. The embossed elements combined with the shades of green glazes and brown accents, provide depth and outlet uncanny visual interest. Standing 4 3/4" tall, it is 7 1/2" across its elliptical base and 5 7/8" side to side at the top. There is some random, faint crazing and crackling which is atypical along with a glazed over factory incision at the rounded base. Both noted are subdued by the multiple topography of the vase and do not overtly affect its display. Some minor calcium deposits are on the inside rims presumably from use. The underside is unmarked. This is a wonderful example of the Marvo line and would make a great conversation piece, stand alone decoration or valued addition to anyone's art pottery collection. Thanks for looking!
