A hand built outlet wooden primitive storage box/caddy for kindling or kitchen storage

A charming hand built primitive kitchen storage unit based on an American primitive kindling caddy.

It has been made from lovely old reclaimed wood and has been painted white. The top of the unit has a lift up lid that reveals a small storage space that has been painted outlet in a soft taupe grey shade.

Boxes such as this were originally used to store kindling with the little store at the top for tapers and matches. I have styled it as a kitchen caddy so that the options for this nice substantial piece can be seen.
