Vintage 70s outlet Mexican Dress Floral Embroidered Purple Cotton

This is an unused embroidered purple cotton Mexican dress made most likely during the 1970s by an artisan of Oaxaca origin. The bodice is embroidered with flowers in yellow, blue, red, green and white. The yoke, both the front and back, is made of purple crochet lace. This Mexican dress is made with above the wrist sleeves that are cut full and have inset lace. The cuff of each sleeve has drawstring ties. The neckline is squared and the body of the dress is cut full and decorated with satin ribbon, box pleats and inset lace. This Mexican dress is unlined and has no zippered openings, so simply fits over the head.

Label: 100% Cotton Made in Mexico CA 05678. The CA number is the Canadian importer's identification number. The importer was based in Toronto and is long since closed
Sizing: No size is indicated on this Mexican maxi dress, however, I believe the this should fit a medium size - please note the following measurements for fit (note that this has to go over the head and is a loose fitting garment):
Sleeves: 24” long from the mid-neck to the sleeve edge
Sleeve inseam: 14 1/2”
Bust: 40” around, taken under the arms, but should fall loosely
Waist: 48” around, but should fall loosely
Hips: 50”, but should fall loosely
Length: 43” long, measured flat
Condition: This Mexican dress is unused, part of outlet a small lot of new old store stock that I've acquired. It is in very clean condition, bright and obviously unused and well stored.
This is a very pretty Mexican maxi dress ….striking colour, sure to be noticed!
