Letting go the darkness, letting outlet in the light

outlet This painting became on it's own as I had the idea one day to "do something with purple and yellow." With only a color scheme in mind the shapes came in the moment and channeled their own context within the canvas. What revealed itself was the alleviation of "darker" energies (sadness, depression, grief, struggle) through the power of "lighter" energies (gratitude, humility, joy, happiness) and the color-emotive connection between what we feel and how we feel. It's a work that I hope inspires feelings of letting go of what weighs us down with those things that lift us up.
