Here is a fine example of MCM Dansk Kobenstyle. It is a 6-quart casserole stew pot or Dutch oven, in midnight blue.
Or maybe we should call it a Danish oven!! Stop me if you've heard that one before!
It has the distinctive criss-cross handle on the lid, and oh-so-modern prong handles on the pot!
I'm calling it a 6-quart pot, because I outlet added ALMOST 6 quarts of water to the pot. I think they give an estimate on this.
It is rather large, measuring at 10 inches across, and the handles bring it up to 13-1/2 inches. It is approx. 4-1/2 inches deep.
Your dishes will be beautiful and lovely, whether you are serving something plebian or an elegant gourmet dish! And will cook without that "teflon taste"!
It will be lovely on the table or on a sideboard.
The mark is "Dansk / International / Designs Ltd / J H Q France/ C" I believe this mark was used before 1976.
J H Q stands for Jens Quistgaard, the designer.
Now these cookwares tend to have some chips, and this one is no exception. There are tiny chips on the rim of the pot. There are utensil makes in the pot, and a spot of lightened color. It is in good vintage condition!
If you need a 6-quart casserole, be advised that I could not find one on the Dansk website, and the newer ones are made in Thailand.
